2 “command the children of yisra’ĕl to send out of the camp every leper, and everyone who has a discharge, and whoever becomes defiled for a being.

3 “send out both male and female, send them outside the camp, so that they do not defile their camps in the midst of whichiI dwell.”

4 and the children of yisra’ĕl did so, to send them outside the camp. as יהוה had spoken to mosheh, so the children of yisra’ĕl did.

13 and shall love you and bless you and increase you, and shall bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your land, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flock, in the land of which he swore to your fathers to give you.

1  he who dwells in the secret place of the most high, who abides under the shadow of the almighty,

2  he is saying of יהוה, “my refuge and my stronghold, my elohim, in whom i trust!”

3  for he delivers you from the snare of a trapper, from the destructive pestilence.

4  he covers you with his feathers, and under his wings you take refuge; his truth is a shield and armour.

5  you are not afraid of the dread by night, of the arrow that flies by day,

6  of the pestilence that walks in darkness, of destruction that ravages at midday.

7  a thousand fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it does not come near you.

8  only with your eyes you look on, and see the reward of the wrong ones.

9  because you have made יהוה – my refuge, the most high – your dwelling place,

10  no evil befalls you, and a plague does not come near your tent;

11  for he commands his messengers concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.

12  they bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

13  you tread upon lion and cobra, young lion and serpent you trample under foot.

14  “because he cleaves to me in love, therefore i deliver him; i set him on high, because he has known my name.

15  “when he calls on me, i answer him; i am with him in distress; i deliver him and esteem him.

16  “with long life i satisfy him, and show him my deliverance.”

31  “if anyone sins against his neighbour, and he has lifted up an oath on him, to cause him to swear, and comes and swears

before your altar in this house,

32  then hear in the heavens, and act and rightly rule your servants, declaring the wrongdoer wrong, bringing his way on his head, and declaring the righteous right by giving him according to his righteousness.

33  “when your people yisra’ĕl are smitten before an enemy, because they have sinned against you, and they shall turn back to you and confess your name, and pray and make supplication to you in this house,

34  then hear in the heavens, and forgive the sin of your people yisra’ĕl, and bring them back to the land which you gave to

their fathers.

35  “when the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because they sin against you, when they pray toward this place and confess your name, and turn from their sin because you afflict them,

36  then hear in the heavens, and forgive the sin of your servants, your people yisra’ĕl – for you teach them the good way in which they should walk – and shall give rain on your land which you have given to your people as an inheritance.

37  “when there is scarcity of food in the land; when there is pestilence, blight, mildew, locusts, grasshoppers; when their

enemy distresses them in the land of their cities; any plague, any sickness,

38  whatever prayer, whatever supplication made by anyone of all your people yisra’ĕl, each knowing the plague of his own heart, and shall spread out his hands toward this house,

39  then hear in the heavens, your dwelling place, and forgive, and act, and render unto everyone according to all his ways, whose heart you know. because you – you alone – know the

hearts of all the sons of men,

40  so that they fear you all the days that they live in the land which you gave to our fathers.

1 in those days ḥizqiyahu was sick and near death. and yeshayahu the prophet, the son of amots, came to him, and said to him, “thus said יהוה, ‘set your house in order, for you are going to die and not live.’ ”

2 and ḥizqiyahu turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to יהוה, 3 and said, “i pray, o יהוה, please remember how i have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and

have done what is good in your eyes.” and ḥizqiyahu wept bitterly.

4 and the word of יהוה came to yeshayahu, saying,

5 “go and say to ḥizqiyahu, ‘thus aid יהוה, the elohim

of dawiḏ your father, “i have heard your prayer, i have seen your tears. see, i am adding fifteen years to your days.

6 “and out of the hand of the sovereign of ashshur i shall deliver you and this city, and protect this city.” ’

7 “and this is the sign to you from יהוה, that יהוה does this

word which he has spoken:

8 “see, i am bringing the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down with the sun on the sundial of aḥaz, ten degrees backward.” and the sun returned ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down.

9 this is the writing of ḥizqiyahu sovereign of yehuḏah, when he had been sick and had recovered from his sickness:

10 i said, “am i to go into the gates of the grave in the prime of my life? shall i be deprived of the rest of my years?”

11 i said, “i shall not see yah – yah in the land of the living! i shall no longer look on man with the inhabitants of the world! 12 “my dwelling is plucked up, taken from me like a shepherd’s tent. i have cut off my life like a weaver; he cuts me off from

the loom. from day to night you make an end of me.

13 “i soothed myself until morning. like a lion, so he shatters all my bones. from day to night you make an end of me.

14 “like a swallow or a thrush, so i chattered; i moaned like a dove; my eyes look weakly on high. o יהוה, i am oppressed, undertake for me!

15 “what do i say? for he has spoken to me, and he himself has acted. softly i go, all my years, because of the bitterness of

my being.

16 “o יהוה, by these do men live, and my spirit finds life in all

of them. restore me and make me live.

17 “see, for peace i had what was bitter, bitter. but you have lovingly delivered my being from the pit of corruption, for you

have cast all my sins behind your back.

18 “for the grave does not thank you, nor death praise you; those who go down to the pit do not watch for your truth.

19 “the living, the living – he is praising you, as i do this day. a father makes known your truth to his children.

20 “יהוה, come to save me! and let us sing my songs with stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of יהוה.”
