from which laws did messiah set us free?

luk 13:10  and he was teaching in one of the congregations on the sabbath, 11  and see, there was a woman having a weakening spirit for eighteen years, and was bent over and was unable to straighten up at all. 12  and יהושע, seeing her, called her near and said to her, “woman, you are loosened from your weakness.” 13  and He laid his hands on her, and immediately she was straightened up, and praised elohim. 14  but the ruler of the congregation, responding, much displeased that יהושע had healed on the sabbath, said to the crowd, “there are six days on which men should work, so come and be healed on them, and not on the sabbath day.” 15  then the master answered him and said, “hypocrite! does not each one of you on the sabbath loosen his ox or his donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? 16  “and this one, being a daughter of aḇraham, whom datan has bound, look, for eighteen years, should she not be loosened from this bond on the sabbath?” 17  and when he said this, all his opponents were put to shame. and all the crowd rejoiced for all the splendid works being done by him. 18  therefore he said, “what is the reign of elohim like? and to what shall I compare it? 19  “it is like a mustard seed, which a man took and threw into his garden. and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the heavens nested in its branches

joh 8:31  so יהושע said to those yehuḏim who believed him, “if you stay in my word, you are truly my taught ones, 32  and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” 33  they answered him, “we are the seed of aḇraham, and have been servants to no one at any time. how do you say, ‘you shall become free’?” 34  יהושע answered them, “truly, truly, i say to you, everyone doing sin is a servant of sin. 35  “and the servant does not stay in the house forever – a son stays forever. 36  “if, then, the son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. 37  “i know that you are the seed of aḇraham, but you seek to kill me, because my word has no place in you. 38  “i speak what i have seen with my father, and you do what you have heard from your father.”

joh 13:10  יהושע said to him, “he who has had a bath does not need to wash, except his feet, but is clean altogether. and you are clean, but not all of you.”

11  for he knew who would deliver him up, so he said, “you are not all clean

joh 15:1   “ i am the true vine, and my father is the gardener. 2  “every branch in me that bears no fruit he takes away. and every branch that bears fruit he prunes, so that it bears more fruit. 3  “you are already clean because of the word which i have spoken to you. 4  “stay in me, and i stay in you. as the branch is unable to bear fruit of itself, unless it stays in the vine, so neither you, unless you stay in me. 5  “i am the vine, you are the branches. he who stays in me, and i in him, he bears much fruit. because without me you are able to do naught! 6  “if anyone does not stay in me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up. and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7  “if you stay in me, and my words stay in you, you shall ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you. 8  “in this my father is esteemed, that you bear much fruit, and you shall be my taught ones

joh 3:33  “he who receives his witness has set his seal that elohim is true. 34  “for he whom elohim has sent speaks the words of elohim, for elohim does not give the spirit by measure. 35  “the father loves the son, and has given all into his hand. 36  “he who believes in the son possesses everlasting life, but he who does not obey the son shall not see life, but the wrath of elohim remains on him

act 2:38  and kěpha said to them, “repent, and let each one of you be immersed in the name of יהושע messiah for the forgiveness of sins. and you shall receive the gift of the set-apart spirit

act 3:19  “repent therefore and turn back, for the blotting out of your sins, in order that times of refreshing might come from the presence of the master

act 14:15  and saying, “men, why are you doing this? we also are men with the same nature as you, bringing to you the good news: to turn from these worthless matters to the living elohim, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all that is in them

act 26:15  “and i said, ‘who are you, master?’ and he said, ‘i am יהושע, whom you persecute. 16  but rise up, and stand on your feet, for i have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you a servant and a witness both of what you saw and of those which i shall reveal to you,  17  delivering you from the people, and the nations, to whom i now send you,  18  to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light, and the authority of satan to elohim, in order for them to receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are set-apart by belief in me.’

act 22:2  and when they heard that he spoke to them in the hebrew language, they kept greater silence. And he said: 3  “i am indeed a yehuḏi, having been born in tarsos of kilikia, but brought up in this city at the feet of gamli’ěl, having been instructed according to the exactness of the torah of our fathers, being ardent for elohim, as you all are today, 4  who persecuted this way to the death, binding and delivering up into prisons both men and women

act 26:5  since they have known me from the first, if they wish to witness, that i lived as a pharisee according to the strictest sect of our observance.  6  “and now i stand and am judged for the expectation of the promise made by elohim to our fathers, 7  to which our twelve tribes, earnestly serving elohim night and day, expect to attain. concerning this expectation, o sovereign agrippa, i am accused by the yehuḏim

act 24:14  “and this i confess to you, that according to the way which they call a sect, so i worship the elohim of my fathers, believing all that has been written in the torah and in the prophets

rom 1:16  for i am not ashamed of the good news of messiah, for it is the power of elohim for deliverance to everyone who believes, to the yehuḏi first and also to the greek. 17  for in it the righteousness of elohim is revealed from belief to belief, as it has been written, “but the righteous shall live by belief.”

rom 6:8  and if we died with messiah, we believe that we shall also live with him,  9  knowing that messiah, having been raised from the dead, dies no more – death no longer rules over him.  10  for in that he died, he died to sin once for all; but in that he lives, he lives to elohim.  11  so you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to elohim in messiah יהושע our master. 12  therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, to obey it in its desires, 13  neither present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to elohim as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to elohim.  14  for sin shall not rule over you, for you are not under the law but under favour. 15  what then? shall we sin because we are not under torah but under favour? tet it not be!  16  do you not know that to whom you present yourselves servants for obedience, you are servants of the one whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?  17  but thanks to elohim that you were servants of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of teaching to which you were entrusted.

rom 8:1   there is, then, now no condemnation to those who are in messiah יהושע, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the spirit. 2  for the torah of the spirit of the life in messiah יהושע has set me free from the torah of sin and of death

rom 3:20  therefore by *works of law (this is referring to the man-made rabbinic oral law)* no flesh shall be declared right before him, for by the torah is the knowledge of sin

rom 2:11  for there is no partiality with elohim

rom 10:3  for not knowing the righteousness of elohim, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of elohim. 4  for messiah is the goal of the ‘torah unto righteousness’ to everyone who believes

gal 3:13  messiah redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us – for it has been written, “cursed is everyone who hangs upon a tree.”  14  in order that the blessing of aḇraham might come upon the nations in messiah יהושע, to receive the promise of the spirit through belief… deut 28:15 (moshe speaking to the entire congregation of all yisrael in the wilderness)

15 “but it shall come about, if you do not obey yhwh your elohim, to observe to do all Hhs commandments and his statutes with which I charge you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you…dan 9:11

11 indeed all yisrael has transgressed your law and turned aside, not obeying your voice; so the curse has been poured out on us, along with the oath which is written in the law of moshe the servant of Elohim, for we have sinned against him

eph 2:1   and you were dead in trespasses and sins, 2  in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience,

3  among whom also we all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, as also the rest.  4  but elohim, who is rich in compassion, because of his great love with which he loved us, 5  even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with messiah – by favour you have been saved  6  and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenlies in messiah יהושע, 7  in order to show in the coming ages the exceeding riches of his favour in kindness toward us in messiah.  8 for by favour you have been saved, through belief, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of elohim, 9  it is not by works, so that no one should boast. 10  for we are his workmanship, created in messiah יהושע unto good works, which elohim prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

one in messiah 11  therefore remember that you, once nations in the flesh, who are called ‘the uncircumcision’ by what is called ‘the circumcision’ made in the flesh by hands 12  that at that time you were without messiah, excluded from the citizenship of yisra’ěl and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no expectation and without elohim in the world. 13  but now in messiah יהושע you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of the messiah.

14  for he is our peace, who has made both one, and having broken down the partition of the barrier,  15  having abolished in his flesh the enmity – the torah of the commands in dogma – so as to create in himself one renewed man from the two, thus making peace, 16  and to completely restore to favour both of them unto elohim in one body through the stake, having destroyed the enmity by it.

col 1:13  who has delivered us from the authority of darkness and transferred us into the reign of the son of his love, 14  in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins

col 2:13  and you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, he has made alive together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14  *having blotted out that which was written by hand against us – by the dogmas – which stood against us.* and he has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the stake. 15  having stripped the principalities and the authorities, he made a public display of them, having prevailed over them in it

col 3:5  therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: whoring, uncleanness, passion, evil desire and greed of gain, which is idolatry. 6  because of these the wrath of elohim is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7  in which you also once walked when you lived in them

col 2:5  for though i am absent in the flesh, yet i am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your belief in messiah…20  if, then, you died with messiah from the elementary matters of the world, why, as though living in the world, *do you subject yourselves to dogmas* 21  “do not touch, do not taste, do not handle 22  which are all to perish with use *according to the commands and teachings of men?* 23  these indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed worship, humiliation and harsh treatment of the body – of no value at all, only for satisfaction of the flesh
