Shemu’ĕl Aleph (1 Samuel) 15:23 ““For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and stubbornness is as wickedness and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of יהוה, He also does reject you as sovereign.””
Yehezqĕl (Ezekiel) 14:3-7, 10 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and have put the stumbling-block of their crookedness before their face. Should I let them inquire of Me at all? “Therefore speak to them, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus said the Master יהוה, “Everyone of the house of Yisra’ĕl who sets up his idols in his heart, and puts the stumbling-block of his crookedness before his face, and shall come to the prophet – I יהוה shall answer him who comes, according to his many idols, in order to lay hold of the house of Yisra’ĕl by their heart, for they have become estranged from Me by their idols, all of them.” ’ “Therefore say to the house of Yisra’ĕl, ‘Thus said the Master יהוה, “Repent, and turn back from your idols, and turn back your faces from all your abominations. “For anyone of the house of Yisra’ĕl, or of the strangers who sojourn in Yisra’ĕl, who separates himself from Me and sets up his idols in his heart and puts the stumbling-block of his crookedness before his face, and shall come to a prophet to inquire of him concerning Me, I יהוה shall answer him Myself. “And they shall bear their crookedness, the crookedness of the prophet is the same as the crookedness of the inquirer,”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 15:8-9 This people draw near to Me with their mouth, and respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. ‘But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as teachings the commands of men.’
Ya‛aqoḇ (James) 4:11-12 Brothers, do not speak against one another. He that speaks against a brother and judges his brother, speaks against Torah and judges Torah. And if you judge Torah, you are not a doer of Torah but a judge. There is one Lawgiver and Judge, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?”
““And when you say in your heart, ‘How do we know the word which יהוה has not spoken?’ – when the prophet speaks in the Name of יהוה and the word is not, or comes not, that is the word which יהוה has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.”
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 18:21-22
Diḇre haYamim Aleph (1 Chronicles) 21:18-19 And the messenger of יהוה commanded Gaḏ to say to Dawiḏ that Dawiḏ should go up to raise a slaughter-place to יהוה on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Yeḇusite. So Dawiḏ went up at the word of Gaḏ, which he had spoken in the Name of יהוה.”
the above verses are indicative of a specific manner a command was given
Shemu’ĕl Aleph (1 Samuel) 25:4-9 And Dawiḏ heard in the wilderness that Naḇal was shearing his sheep. And Dawiḏ sent ten young men, and Dawiḏ said to the young men, “Go up to Karmel, and you shall come to Naḇal, and greet him in my name, and say this, ‘Long life and peace to you! And peace to your house, and peace to all that you have! And now, I have heard that you have shearers. Now your shepherds have been with us. We did not put them to shame, and not a speck of theirs was missing all the days they were in Karmel. Ask your young men, and let them inform you. So let my young men find favour in your eyes, for we come on a good day. Please give whatever comes to your hand to your servants and to your son Dawiḏ.’ ” And the young men of Dawiḏ came and spoke to Naḇal according to all these words in the name of Dawiḏ, and waited.”
here we learn that they spoke the exact words as if dawid was standing there soeaking to naḇal himself. it shows a clear picture that in the name of is to convey the exact words of the one that sent you with his message
Estĕr (Esther) 2:22 And the matter became known to Mordeḵai, who informed Sovereigness Estĕr, and Estĕr spoke to the sovereign in Mordeḵai’s name.”
here we also see ester conveying the exact words mordekai spoke
Estĕr (Esther) 3:12-15 And the sovereign’s scribes were called on the thirteenth day of the first new month, and a decree was written according to all that Haman commanded – to the viceroys of the sovereign, and to the governors who were over each province, and to the officials of all people, to every province according to its writing, and to every people in their language. It was written in the name of Sovereign Aḥashwĕrosh, and sealed with the sovereign’s signet ring. And the letters were sent by the runners into all the sovereign’s provinces, to cut off, to kill, and to destroy all the Yehuḏim, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth new month, which is the new moon of Aḏar, and to plunder their possessions. A copy of the writing, to be made law in every province, was published for all people, to be ready for that day. The runners went out, hastened by the sovereign’s command, and the decree was given out in the citadel of Shushan. The sovereign and Haman then sat down to drink, but the city of Shushan was in confusion.”
again we see haman answering the letter as if the king wrote it himself
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 23:20-32 The displeasure of יהוה shall not turn back until He has done and established the purposes of His heart. In the latter days you shall understand it perfectly. “I did not send these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. “But if they had stood in My counsel, then they would have let My people hear My Words, and they would have turned them from their evil way and from the evil of their deeds. “Am I an Elohim close by,” declares יהוה, “and not an Elohim afar off? “If anyone is hidden in secret places, would I not see him?” declares יהוה. “Do I not fill the heavens and earth?” declares יהוה. “I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy falsehood in My Name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’ “Till when shall it be in the heart of the prophets? – the prophets of falsehood and prophets of the deceit of their own heart, who try to make My people *forget My Name* by their dreams which everyone relates to his neighbour, as their fathers forgot My Name for Ba‛al. “The prophet who has a dream, let him relate the dream, and he who has My Word, let him speak My Word in truth. What is the chaff to the wheat?” declares יהוה. “Is not My Word like a fire?” declares יהוה, “and like a hammer that shatters a rock? “Therefore see, I am against the prophets,” declares יהוה, “who steal My Words every one from his neighbour. “See, I am against the prophets,” declares יהוה, “who use their tongues and say, ‘He declares.’ “See, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,” declares יהוה, “and relate them, and lead My people astray by their falsehoods and by their reckless boasting. But I Myself did not send them nor have I commanded them. And they do not profit this people at all,” declares יהוה.”
within the context of these verses we can clearly see that the meaning stayed the same as in the time of samuel and dawid, even the word “name” reflects the meaning “the words of yhwh”.
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 26:4-16 And you shall say to them, ‘Thus said יהוה, “If you do not listen to Me, to walk in My Torah which I set before you, to listen to the words of My servants the prophets I am sending you, even rising up early and sending them – though you have not listened – then I shall make this house like Shiloh, and make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.” ’ ” And the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Yirmeyahu speaking these words in the House of יהוה. And it came to be, when Yirmeyahu had ended speaking all that יהוה had commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying, “You shall certainly die! “Why have you prophesied in the Name of יהוה, saying, ‘This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city be dried up, without an inhabitant’?” And all the people were gathered against Yirmeyahu in the House of יהוה. And the heads of Yehuḏah heard this, and they came up from the sovereign’s house to the House of יהוה and sat down in the entrance of the new gate of the House of יהוה. And the priests and the prophets spoke to the heads and all the people, saying, “A death sentence for this man! *For he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears.* And Yirmeyahu spoke to all the heads and all the people, saying, *יהוה sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city with all the words you heard.* “And now, make good your ways and your deeds, and obey the voice of יהוה your Elohim, then יהוהshall relent concerning the evil He has pronounced against you. “And I, look I am in your hand. Do with me as seems good and right to you. “But know for certain that if you put me to death, you are bringing innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city, and on its inhabitants. *For truly יהוה has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing.* Then the heads and all the people said to the priests and the prophets, “No death sentence for this man. *For he has spoken to us in the Name of יהוה our Elohim.*
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 34:13-16 Thus said יהוה the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, ‘I Myself made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Mitsrayim, out of the house of bondage, saying, “At the end of seven years each one should set free his Hebrew brother, who has been sold to him. And when he has served you six years, you shall let him go free from you.” But your fathers did not obey Me nor incline their ear. (note: the command is spoken in the first person the words of yhwh) And you recently turned and did what was right in My eyes, each man proclaiming release to his neighbour. *And you made a covenant before Me in the house which is called by My Name. (note: to repent is to turn back to yhwh’s torah (teachings) and to do what is right in the eyes of yhwh) But you turned back and profaned My Name, and each one of you took back his male and female slaves, whom he had set free, at their pleasure, and brought them into subjection, to be your male and female slaves. (note: to profane yhwh’s name is to be disobedient toward yhwh’s teachings (torah) and to turn back to your own desires)*
baruch 2:15 so that all the earth may know that you are yhwh our elohiym, and because your name has been invoked over yashar’el and over his posterity (note: in other words, the people of yashar’el to whom yhwh’s torah was conveyed (his name))
baruch 2:26 and thou hast made the temple, in which thy name was called upon, as it is at this day, for the iniquity of the house of yashar’el, and the house of yahudah (note: the house (temple) which yhwh cares for are only the righteous ‘children’ with whom he is present (the teachings (torah) of yhwh is written on their hearts of flesh (name of yhwh is written on their hearts))

Yoḥanan (John) 14:19-23 Yet a little while, and the world no longer sees Me, but you shall see Me, because I live, and you shall live. “In that day you shall know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. “He who possesses My commands and guards them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and manifest Myself to him.” Yehuḏah – not the one from Qerioth – said to Him, “Master, what has come about that You are about to manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?” יהושע answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he shall guard My Word. And My Father shall love him, and We shall come to him and make Our stay with him.”
…but when it refers to the stone building (temple) given his name it can mean, the temple where his torah is made know and taught to people, or where the temple is blessed or cursed by yhwh
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 42:4-10 And Yirmeyahu the prophet said to them, “I have heard. See, I am praying to יהוה your Elohim according to your words, and it shall be that I declare to you all the word יהוה answers you. *I withhold not a word from you.* And they said to Yirmeyahu, “Let יהוה be a true and steadfast witness between us, *if we do not do according to all the word which יהוה your Elohim sends us by you.* “Whether good or evil, let us obey the voice of יהוהour Elohim to whom we send you, in order that it might be well with us when we obey the voice of יהוה our Elohim.” And after ten days it came to be that the word of יהוה came to Yirmeyahu. So he called Yoḥanan son of Qarĕaḥ, and all the commanders of the army which were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest, and said to them, “Thus said יהוה, the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, to whom you sent me to present your petition before Him, If you would indeed stay in this land, then I shall build you and not pull you down, and I shall plant you and not pluck you up. For I have relented of the evil I have done to you.”
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 43:1-2 And it came to be, when Yirmeyahu had ended speaking all these words to all the people – all the words of יהוה their Elohim, for which יהוה their Elohim had sent him to them – that Azaryah son of Hoshayah, and Yoḥanan son of Qarĕaḥ, and all the proud men spoke, saying to Yirmeyahu, “You are speaking a lie! יהוה our Elohim has not sent you to say, ‘Do not go to Mitsrayim to sojourn there.’”
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 44:16-17 We are not going to listen to you in the matter about which *you spoke to us in the Name of יהוה!* “But *we shall do whatever has gone out of our own mouth,* to burn incense to the sovereigness of the heavens and pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our sovereigns and our heads, in the cities of Yehuḏah and in the streets of Yerushalayim. And we had plenty of food, and were well-off, and saw no evil.”
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 6:1-9 And this is the command, the laws and right-rulings which יהוה your Elohim has commanded, to teach you to do in the land which you are passing over to possess, so that you fear יהוה your Elohim, to guard all His laws and His commands which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days be prolonged. And you shall hear, O Yisra’ĕl, and shall guard to do, that it might be well with you, and that you increase greatly as יהוה Elohim of your fathers has spoken to you, in a land flowing with milk and honey. “Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one! “And you shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might. And these Words which I am commanding you today shall be in your heart, and you shall impress them upon your children, and shall speak of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up, and shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. “And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 6:12 -13 be on guard, lest you forget יהוה who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, from the house of bondage.” ““Fear יהוה your Elohim and serve Him, and swear by His Name.”
note: deut 6:1-12 is a stern warning from yhwh to yashar’el to know the torah, to keep it in their hearts and not to forget and to be obedient in his torah (teachings).
in this regard v 13 can not mean anything else than to stay true to the words of yhwh’s toeah (teachings).
so, to do yhwh’s torah is to swear by his name, and to walk in his name

here 👆🏻 the name equals salvation. is there salvation by uttering the name yhwh or yahusha, or by the hearing and doing of yhwh’s teachings (torah). when we have the answer we will know what “in the name of” means.

note: just as yhwh is known by his words and works, so too each one of us is know by our words and deeds (works) and will we receive a name accordingly to our words and deeds (works).
if we then become one with our abba yhwh, we will carry his name, because the world will compare us with him (his spirit (wind/breath/words).
note: what flows from this is that our abba (father) didn’t choose a name and said what we should call him, but that we give him a name, a name that agreed with that with which we knew him by: the mighty elohiym, the ever living elohiym, the yhwh, became his name only later.
Berĕshith (Genesis) 11:5-9 Then *yhwh came down* to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. *And yhwh said,* “Look, they are one people and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do! And now, they are not going to be withheld from doing whatever they plan to do. “Come, let Us go there and confuse their language, so that they do not understand one another’s speech.” *And יהוה scattered them* from there, over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city. That is why its name was called baḇel, because *there יהוה confused the language of all the earth,* and *from there יהוה scattered them over the face of all the earth.*

- the *word* yhwh, originally were used as a *title* as shown in gen 18:13 (and יהוה said to Aḇraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I truly have a child, since I am old?) and in exo 4:24 where the title yhwh were given to someone that wanted to kill moshe – (and it came to be on the way, in the lodging place, that יהוה met him and sought to kill him); and the *word* yhwh was not reserved as a synonym for abba until after the introduction of the commandments on sinai. in the above verses it is obvious that it does not refer to the ever living elohiym, and to translate that it does confuse the reader. (👉🏻 exo 6:3 ““And I appeared to Aḇraham, to Yitsḥaq, and to Ya‛aqoḇ, as Ěl Shaddai. And by My Name, יהוה, was I not known to them?) gen 18:1-3, 10, 13-14, 16-23, 26, 32-33 “And יהוהappeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamrĕ, while he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day. So he lifted his eyes and looked, and saw *three men* standing opposite him. And when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground, and said, “יהוה, if I have now found favour in Your eyes, please do not pass Your servant by. And *He said,* “I shall certainly return to you according to the time of life, and see, Sarah your wife is to have a son!” And Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him. ( exo 3:13 “And Mosheh said to Elohim, “See, when I come to the children of yashar’el and say to them, *‘The Elohim of your fathers* has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His Name?’ what shall I say to them? 14 “And Elohim said to Mosheh, *“I am that which I am.”* And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of yashar’el, *Iam* has sent me to you.’ 15 “And Elohim said further to Mosheh, “Thus you are to say to the children of yashar’el, *‘יהוה Elohim of your fathers,* (👉🏻 john 17:20-23 ““And I do not pray for these alone, but also for those believing in Me through their word, so that they all might be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, so that they too might be one in Us, so that the world might believe that You have sent Me. “And the esteem which You gave Me I have given them, so that they might be one as We are one, 👉🏻 “And Elohim said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the livestock, and over all the earth and over all the creeping creatures that creep on the ground.) …exo 3:15 continues the Elohim of Aḇraham, the Elohim of Yitsḥaq, and the Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ, has sent me to you. This is My Name forever, and this is My remembrance to all generations. (👉🏻 “That is why its name was called Baḇel, because there יהוה confused the language of all the earth, and from there יהוה scattered them over the face of all the earth.) …exo 3:16 continues: “Go, and you shall gather the elders of yashar’el together, and say to them, *‘יהוה Elohim of your fathers,* the Elohim of Aḇraham, of Yitsḥaq, and of Ya‛aqoḇ, appeared to me, saying, I have indeed visited you and seen what is done to you in Mitsrayim)
note: the above and other verses show that yhwh were not always only referring to the ever livings exclusive name.
and still today we argue with people about how the name should be pronounced where we should concentrate on “living in the name” which only means to walk in and talk and live abba’s teachings (torah).
